Gender: male
Age: 41
About Me:

I am a teacher, a writer, a performance artist, an actor, a dancing fool, a jack of all trades, master of few. I lived at the Esalen Institute for five years -- from 1995 through till the millennium -- and was the Coordinator of the Friends of Esalen during that time. I think that my time at Esalen was, in all likelihood, the most formative time of my life. I was coming from a place of great uncertainty, about life, about everything. I did not know, really, who I was, or what I was here for. Esalen guided me, birthed me, in many ways-- and I feel like I became a real person from being there. I owe an eternal debt of gratitude to the place and to the teachers that I had the good fortune of studying with while there. John Soper, Chris Price, John Heider, Robert Hall, Dorothy Charles, Gesina Stratman, Eric Erikson, oh, there are too many to list. I am now living in Los Angeles -- city of Angels -- so they say. And, it is a challenge, to say the least, to remember how to be, how to live, in an environment that is so filled with fire and materiality. Honestly, it is a struggle to stay on point. I have found people here who I care about and who I connect with. They are something like family. They know me. They know my heart. I created this web site, well, honestly, in dedication of friend of mine Andy, who passed away a little while ago. I suppose it is some small way in which, possibly, at least a little bit him lives on.

Albert, Thank you for creating this site. I am not connected with anyone here, I stumbled across the site while reviewing IONS info somewhere on the net. It was a leap of my faith to request inclusion and I'm so thankful to be here. I think you've done a marvelous job of building the foundation for an incredible community of incredible people. The ideas you've implemented; the meditation house, talking stick, giving each community member a blog and a place to share pieces of our humanity and perspective... it's all very well done. Thank you for all your work and thank you, once again for welcoming me. I think I finally feel like I may be less alone in the way of my thoughts than ever before.

Finally!
Thank you for making this site. I an't wait to reconnect with the people I've met at Esalen, and the new Esalen friends on your site.

I've long wished that I could arrange my life so that I could spend some time living at Esalen. I admire you for doing what many of us dream of doing -- living at Esalen. Maybe someday...
In the mean time, it's great to have this site to keep the spirit of the community alive in the world outside the gate.

Albert, Thank You for creating this website!

One of the first things I saw was the Free Hugs video. That video is awesome! The music, the people, the editing are perfect. I watched it like five or ten times on the night I found your website. It does a great job of communicating the feeling you get from being in a place like Esalen. It is so moving.

I showed the video to my Mom on her birthday, and she loved it. We watched it several times together. Then, she emailed the video link to people in our family as A Birthday Hug. My brother's kids loved it and played it for their friends. One of my nephews walked around hugging everyone the whole day.

Thank you again. I appreciate what you have created. I will try to be an actively contributing member of the community.

Interent doesn't work for her at the moment, perhaps in 2007..
