Tibetan Buddhism
This was filmed shortly before his death in 1991, and includes archival footage. It is on Youtube in 5 segments, narrated by Richard Gere, filmed by Mattieu Ricard .
HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche was a true enlightened being, brimming with compassion.
The film also shows much about Tibet, Bhutan, and of course the prohibition of religion imposed by the Communist Chinese in Tibet. The film also has interviews with HH Dalai Lama. And shows the young Yangtse.
"Whatever appears, nothing has moved from the absolute nature."

The match scratched sharply, scattering particles of sulfur before bursting into flame. She held the brilliant flame to a stick of incense and waited until it too caught fire, then blew out the match. Within her own self, she felt the sudden heart-burst of inner heat that magically enveloped her awareness in the deep bliss to which she was becoming more and more accustomed. This was a good sign, boding well for her morning’s practice.
As the pungent incense fragrance of sandalwood and roses wafted upward, she bowed at the waist and took refuge in the three precious gems and in her teacher, inner and outer, and she vowed to never abandon sentient beings. She vowed to practice the six perfections. Then, she stepped back from the small table and sat down on a plain wooden stool.

My Tibetan Buddhist lama teacher emailed the message below to me tonight, and asked me to pass it on to the Esalen community. She said that there is some urgency for it to get sent, because of the possibilty of fears and disturbances arising from the fires, etc. "while so many things feel scary with the fires it might rekindle the beneficial inner fire of the intentions for the community. "
