HowTo: Upload YouTube videos to the site

So... a bunch of people have asked me how to do this for the site... i.e., how to add YouTube video to the site easily.... so I've finally figured out how to make this work! So... here it goes... Ta da...

Adding YouTube videos to your blog:

  1. First, find the video on YouTube that you want to add.
  2. Next, copy down the URL (i.e., the web address) of the video... for example: [If you want, you can probably just copy the URL link in the address bar of the video using the command CTRL-C.]
  3. Next, go back to the website and start your blog entry there by clicking "create blog entry" ... or by clicking the "Be The Change/Love" (upper right) corner link and then selecting "blog entry".
  4. Fill in your "Title" and and "Body" with what ever text you want to accompany the video.
  5. At the bottom of the "Body" text area, you should see a little YouTube graphic item that looks like this: . So... move your cursor to that point in your text area where you want to insert the video and then click that button.

Here's a diagram:

6. Then, after you've clicked the little YouTube button, a Pop-Up menu should come up. There should be a space where it asks for the "Movie ID".

7. So, go back and find your YouTube link URL (for example, and take the LAST PART OF THE URL WEB LINK... (e.g., UzEbvwyS8I8) and type it in where it asks for Movie ID.... [See the diagram below.]

8. Then click "Submit"... and you're golden! [If you want to make the video a special size you can put in special values into the "Size" boxes... but you can also just leave those blank].

9. The video should post without a hitch! And you're a video broadcasting superstar... Any questions or issues? Feel free to drop me a line and I'll be happy to clarify. You questions will also help me make this an even better tutorial!

[Note: This is an experimental feature and we're still checking it out. The one thing that seems true is that this functionality may not work in the Safari browser... Sorry! However, it should work in Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7 as well as Mozilla / Firefox.]

Thanks for being here... and thanks for being,

Peace and love,

So, I successfully posted a youtube video... Albert's instructions worked well. I can confirm that those of you with Apple computers will not want to use Safari as your browser(it did not work). Instead use Mozilla/Firefox (you can download it for free), it worked perfectly. S
