Has anyone else noticed this?
I was going through some old photos and came across this one:
it appears someone left out the W or D
Some vandals did some mischief-making for fool's day. Where did you find this? Just goes to show there are @##$*(&$ everywhere. Kind of eerie that people can just change things around.
Esalen is misspelled; how do you spell misspelled; maybe it was photoshopped. :) I remember a Vegan picketing the place once that made me smile. Don't know why.
until you, Rob mentioned the Vegan picketing Esalen. He was sitting at the table next to me at the Gratitude Cafe. I was just about to bite into an 'I am Insightful' roll when he, finger up the nose- hit the mother lode and my stomach heaved- I couldn't eat another bite. Talk about a new diet tip. Anway he rubbed his offending finger in his napkin and my appetite lost I paid and left. I wondered what he was ordering. Do you think he ordered an I am (ful)filled?
wow, photoshop. I love that sign, it's one of my pieces of history. Selig and I carved it in 1965-66 or so. If you ever get a chance, take a look and you will see two slightly different strokes on the chisel marks, mine were deeper and longer, Selig's were shorter and narrower. He's been gone forty years now, more or less, but he still lives on there. Also there are several knife punctures from "Robot" throwing a knife into it circa 1969.
