I get him to tell us how to say his name. It was a great little 2 day event in Gold's beach.
Took many hours to try to get it to this form (editing is hard). Especially without the right tools or knowledge. (Or a good memory!) Small but mighty breaktrhough though.
I took classes with him at Esalen in the eary '80s, and studied with his protegé for several years. Al lived for awhile in Maple, Ontario, just north of Toronto. He's inspired so many in their t'ai chi practice, truly a great teacher and joyous presence.
He was rushing on the way to the airport the next morning. My camera was right there I could not resist.
Yes Kathleen he has brought much joy and happiness to many many people. I have a longer video from 1989 I'd like to get on I-Thou/Esalen from his Tai Chi workshop & Esalen in general (always with the greatest respect for my favorite place on Earth)(not that I've seen this Earth just some of the USA).... I don't think I filmed during the workshop but between sessions. Who is his protege'?
(When I did the workshops I was there for the workshops). Later I was there for the place. If I ever return it will be for it all again.
Goldfarb? Gold-something I think. Taught with Al at Esalen and then come to Toronto for a few years to lead workshops.
Thank you. Do you still practice Tai Chi (or Ji)?
T'ai chi was a practice that I enjoyed, but yoga is my home base.
Also suspect I was "spoiled" studying first with Al and Jay; some other teachers were not very inspiring and I dropped it.
Yes Yoga was my base for many years; I always liked doing a little Tai Ji and then Swim and do Tai Ji; I want to do more yoga and Tai Chi and real Meditation. Yesterday I could not concentrate and go deeply. Sadly I missed the Oregon Country Faire. I look forward to it all year long but just didn't go (and my car was packed). At least I got a lot of stuff done.
So how is everything these days with you?

So long ago, so wonderful to see him again
