Ralph Shapira has generously offered to host the workshop up at his place in Malibu. We’ll be meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday of President’s day weekend. Ralph tells me that he can provide indoor sleeping bag accommodations, outdoor camping, and a couple of bedrooms for those who wish to stay overnight. We’re still working over ideas for meals, so please feel free to bring something pot-luck style, as we’ll likely be sharing lunch and dinner together on Saturday, and perhaps all three meals on Sunday.

Please RSVP to me at this email address (jdwheeler75@yahoo.com) or phone me at 650/804-8717 to reserve your space and to get directions if you’d like to attend.

About Hannibal:

William Hannibal Means is an internationally renowned musician, vocalist, and voice teacher. Born and raised in Oakland, California, he flourished as Nina Simone’s protégé, eventually settling in Vienna, Austria to study with and coach many of the gifted artists who reside there. In addition to his role as a highly respected voice teacher among the Viennese, he also gives workshops throughout the world, during which he invites participants to discover the Self through voice.

His technique is indescribable, and the results incredible. By creating sacred space and inviting participants to open their voices from the deepest part of the Self, Hannibal enables his students to discover the sound of their true voice—a profound channel of healing and self-expression. Participants are invited to literally sing their hearts open, establishing communion with the vibrational energy that continuously pours forth from the very core of one’s being.

Participants should be prepared for joy, laughter, and tears as they discover the sound of their true voices, both individually and collectively. Once discovered, this true voice carries forth its vibration throughout all aspects of one’s life, bringing forth profound transformation.

I know this is kind of late notice, but if anyone likes to plan last minute trips, this one is well worth it!

Thanks

Jasmine

I have several friends who who are serious singers, and a couple who are voice coaches, so I will pass on this information to them.

Even if it seems unlikely that someone from here would go out there on such short notice, you never know. And if they aren't told about they don't get the chance. It sounds like a marvelous opportunity.

Thank you for posting it.

Nina Simone! wow! She was so amazing. I remember her recording of Strange Fruit, that was bone chilling.
