Zen Fire Portrait

Thank you, Sterling. That photo is just the thing to remind how new life does spring from ashes and seeming death, and how some parts do survive from the old---no matter what it looks like in the moment of destruction, and no matter how painful that might be in that moment. And that that destruction is part of the natural cycle that allows for the birth of the new. Sometimes the ground has to be cleared or there is no room for anything new to arise. (Speaking as someone who has lost all and started over many times.) I want to put this on my wall! As a daily reminder. This also reminds me of the visual punch and power that some old black and white films conveyed through contrasting light and dark. Sterling, can I paint this, please?

It is awesomely beautiful.

 Happy trails, D.
