HowTo: Add images to a blog entry

Adding images to your blog:

  1. First, make sure the image that you want to add to your blog entry is already a file on your computer.
  2. Next, go back to the website and start your blog entry there by clicking "create blog entry" ... or by clicking the "Be The Change/Love" (upper right) corner link and then selecting "blog entry".
  3. Fill in your "Title" and and "Body" with what ever text you want to accompany the video.
  4. At the bottom of the "Body" text area, you should see a little "Tree Image" graphic item that looks like this: . So... move your cursor to that point in your text area where you want to insert the image and then click that button.

Here's a diagram:

5. Then, after you've clicked the little "Tree Image" button, an "Insert/edit image" Pop-Up Box should come up, as shown below. So, find the little folder icon in the upper right hand corner... and click that, as shown in the diagram below.

6. This will cause another box to open up... which will allow you to browse through images on your computer. Follow the following three steps as outlined below for this window.

(6.1) Click "Browse" to locate the file on your computer.

(6.2) Click "Upload File" to upload the file to the web server.

(6.3) Click "add" to add the file to your blog entry.

7. Once you click "add" from step (6.3), the "Image Browser" Pop-up Box should disappear and you'll be back at the "Insert/edit image" box. Next, just click "Insert"... and the picture should be inserted. Congrats!!

8. Finally, when you're done with your blog, just click "Submit"... and you're golden!

9. The blog should post with the images with it... And you've just added pictures to your blog... Any questions or issues? Feel free to drop me a line and I'll be happy to clarify.

[Note: This functionality may not work in the Safari browser... Sorry! However, it should work in Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7 as well as Mozilla / Firefox.]

This is very helpful. I was getting stuck on step 5 and again between steps 6.3 and 7. I appreciate the clear instructions.

Pop up blockers get in the way. Be sure to disable this feature for the iThou site. That's how I got past it.
