I was just last week on iTunes looking for something from Hair so I could post it here. Somehow, this play/album and the Woodstock album/event really captured my imagination and attention at this time in my life. Perhaps they were iconic events that represented something of the emerging culture that I was attracted to. I knew every song on this album and went to see the play. As my kids get older, as I get older, I find myself drawn back to some of the ideals this music expressed with a fresh look and renewed hope (against the odds). There was a lot of naive things that went on... there were a lot of dangerous experiments... etc... but just because there is fools gold, doesn't mean there isn't real gold. There are pieces of that time that I (we) can still learn from today, now... real gold. Thanks for evoking the possible...
I'm getting used to seeing you post things that I wanted to post myself. I love the song, but don't have the album. So thanks, Mindy. This one was "right on" as we used to say.
