“What I do you cannot do; but what you do, I cannot do.
The needs are great, and none of us,
including me, ever do great things.
But we can all do small things, with great compassion;
And, together, we can do something wonderful”.

This is an excerpt from Parker Palmer’s book “A Hidden Wholeness” that I wanted to share here. This (prose) poem articulates a depth of wisdom, insight, and sacred truth—that is worthy to pause and to ponder on. Seems that the best work (literal and metaphoric work) we do and personal/artistic offerings we give--come alive (in full potential)--when we are rooted in none less but that which is our real voice. The voice, that is unique to you and to me—that cannot be spoken by another. A voice--that speaks with a depth of awareness, sensitivity, and purpose for the deeper good. ~ YogiGypsi
The Woodcarver (a prose poem)

Perfectly articulated by Marvin Gaye’s voice.
A heroic voice for change + hope.

Praise Song for the Day by Elizabeth Alexander YogiGypsi – January 23, 2009 – 7:26pm
To: my fellow iThou community & visitors
I recently went to a Rumi poetry event, with Coleman Barks reading an evening of poetry with a backdrop of enchanting live Persian music and dance. The evening was mesmerizing, stunning, and deeply moving to the soul. One particular poem was piercing—speaking, vividly to me. I thought it would be a perfect poem to share, here, at the end of this year’s passage…into another. May it speak to you in ways that will reach you deep—in your sacred meaning.
Yes We Can.
Because...we must.
Heal and restore our nation.
"We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics who will only grow louder and more dissonant. We’ve been asked to pause for a reality check. We’ve been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about HOPE. For when we have faced down impossible odds; when we’ve been told that we’re not ready; or that we shouldn’t try, or that we can’t, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people. Yes We Can."

Paving a new path of CHANGE + BELIEF + HOPE
I’d like to share this with those who missed Barack Obama’s DNC acceptance speech.
DNC Speech: Barack Obama
“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. May your rivers flow without end, meandering through pastoral valleys tinkling with bells, past temples and castles and poets towers into a dark primeval forest where tigers belch and monk
