One of my final papers this semester was what I think evil is, and if it's a problem in regards to what the class was based on (the problem of evil existing in regards to an omnipotent god)

Here is an article that helped me write my paper... I thought you all might enjoy it :)

Hi everyone,

My uncle had a heart attack yesterday morning, and was rushed to the hospital where various procedures were taken to keep his heart pumping and his arteries open... He is in ICU right now and has been since yesterday. My mom is having a pretty hard time trying to be strong for her sister in law and the rest of the family. I am asking if anyone wishes, to say some prayers or hold thoughts or light a candle, whatever you'd like for my uncle and his family.

I also had to take my dog to the hospital yesterday because he is very sick and can barely move... We did some blood work and x-rays and the doctor thinks he might have pneumonia. He's just been laying in bed, having trouble breathing and not eating much. I could also use some prayers for him too.

Thank you so much, I love you all.

Blessings,

Jasmine

Hey everyone!

I'm doing a two week cleanse up until the anniversary of the passing of my father. It's a tradition I started to honor death and rebirth every since he passed away. This year I'm doing vegetarian, some dairy (we all need our calcium). I'm looking for quick meal, or recipe suggestions if you have any : )

Mind you, I'm a broke/short on time college student so quick meals would do the trick!

Would love some suggestions!

Best and blessings,

Jasmine

I played my first open mic at The Utah in San Francisco... It was Monday night, a really last minute thing. My friend Chip called me up and told me to head over there because he was putting my name on the list. I was called up and didn't know it was being recorded.

Here is the song you all have been seeing evolve. At least the lyrics. It's still really rough and I'm using the house guitar so I apologize for the sour notes. I thik it drags a little and needs a bridge, but at least it has a title now.

Enjoy!!

Thanks for being there!

Firstly, I would like to apologize for the rant that is about to occur…

Hi. My name is Jasmine and my best friend of fourteen years is a Republican and is active (an officer) in the College Republicans at San Francisco State University. This was a complete shock to me when she started her freshman year at SF state and about two months into the semester she came home telling me that she had joined the College Republicans.
I am a supportive person so I didn’t scold her or lecture her of the trap she had fallen into. But soon I started to notice the changes in her embodiment and her presence. Here is a list of some of the dramatic personality changes I have witnessed:
1. Self-righteous attitude
2. High and mightiness
3. Self importance
4. “Standoffish”
5. Not present during conversations that were beyond her conservative grasp of things, which usually are when conversing with me.

Putting my ego aside, I'm reaching out to anyone at Esalen who can possibly guest me for a few days of December 28th through the 31st..I recently moved up to San Francisco for school and the past few months have been a struggle to survive with no chance of reflecting.  I just finished my first semester and finally have some time off from work and a few days at Esalen would really help me out to transition into the new year.

I'm in desparate need of Esalen's nurturing spirit and love. Your kindness will greatly be appreciated.

Lots of love,

Jasmine

I came out of class today and saw that tens of people were gathered in a massive circle in the quad. Curious, I had to go and see what was going on. In the center of the lawn was a beautiful hawk, in all its mightyness. It had just tackled a seagull out of the air and onto the ground, who was now it's lunch. Luckily I had my camera with me, and hopefully without disturbing it too much I got some great photos. Enjoy!

After he took off, I was walking towards my apartment and I looked up in the sky and saw him hovering over me in floating in the sky... It was truly a gift.

I'm working on a new song right now and these are the lyrics coming through... No real structure yet, but maybe throwing them out here will give me some inspiration.

You kiss in the rainbows
your peace, haunts my soul
and I keep on coming back to you

your breath holds me captive
your tune, it pierced my ears
and i keep on coming back to you

the light surrounds you
and you grow through the trees
and mind is bursting with fear
but my heart is saying "come near" ----- I'm still working on this little part--- don't really like the words i'm using

and i wonder if the door is open
and i wonder if i can walk through
you ask me does it build the thrill in you?

and i wonder if the world is spinning
what happens when time stands still?
will it be the only thing we feel?
will this be the one that you'll reveal?

Does anyone here have any personal experience growing African Violets? I purchased a baby plant and looked online for tips but so far nothing seems to be helping it grow and it's been about a month now.

I Would appreciate some tips :)

I discovered today that Richard Wright, one of Pink Floyds founding members passed away from Cancer. As I read through many different news sources and articles about his death I discovered a few facts, which brought chills throughout my body.

But I must give you some background information first...

I moved to San Francisco a couple months ago, and it has been taking me some time to settle in. I'm going through all the normal emotional struggles caused by relocation, especially since it's my first time away from home. Loneliness, depression, fear and the deep loss of my father who passed away three years ago from Cancer was especially strong. Trying desperately hard to get out of the slump I was in and to stop judging myself since I hadn't even found a job yet to pay my rent, I pulled out a book I bought at Esalen, Prayers by Don Miguel Ruiz.

For years, you've been able to choose foods with less fat or fewer additives. Now, with Environmental Working Group's 4th edition of the popular Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce, you can minimize your chemical exposure in the produce aisle. Just go to http://www.foodnews.org/getguide/> .

EWG always recommends organic, but you can't always find it. The new Guide features the 12 fruits and veggies with the most and least pesticides so you'll know which ones to buy organic, and which conventionally-grown ones are okay when organic isn't available.

WASHINGTON — President Bush urged Congress on Wednesday to end a federal ban on offshore oil drilling and open a portion of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil exploration, asserting that those steps and others would lower gasoline prices and “strengthen our national security.”

We humans sure do love to rape mother earth. Why not figure out a way to use less energy? I'm sure there are a lot of people here with comments about this. I'm curious and would like to know what everyone thinks.

John Legend does a cover of a song by U2, a band that has been one of the strongest influences in my life for years.

This is a great tribute to MLK.

And as always, when I hear King speak I get chills throughout my body.

"If you can't fly, run.
If you can't run, walk.
If you can't walk, crawl.
But by all means, keep moving."
MLK

Enjoy!
