It is with sadness that I have learned that Weems's beloved son, Wallace Westfeldt has died Friday morning in a snowboarding accident in Aspen. For all of us on iThou, it was clear how much love there was shared between father and son... how much common spirit and passion for life they both had. Our heart and love goes out to Weems and family during these very difficult times.

With abundant love, on behalf of the community,

--- Albert

From the Rocky Mountain News:

"Aspen native and snowboarder Wallace Westfeldt liked spinners, bonks and card tricks, according to one of his sponsors' Web sites.

He enjoyed powder days, sunny days, park days, big air, small air, winning - and New Zealand, according to another Web site.

I believe that people who need help can also give help.

That the heart-to-heart connection of one person's voice to another can heal.

That the new technologies of Skype, PalTalk, and Google Talk allow people to gather into circles of support in a way that is fundamentally different than our old discussion boards.

That the circulation of compassion that can be generated through the heart-to-heart web creates a dramatic shift in the transformative possibilities of networks of support.

That by hearing each other, voice-to-voice and heart-to-heart, we can all help each other heal.

I believe that we are all equal -- we are never just a "patient" or "an expert" -- we are primarily human beings.

I believe that no one is better than anyone else.

Everyone is wounded and everyone can heal.

Sometimes all we need is a person to witness us and listen.

Everyone has a voice and deserves to be heard.

We can do more together than we can do alone.

My Mission

So, everything appears to be moving straight ahead. I don't know where it is going. But it is a big experiment. I hope that this is of service to someone in the world.

I need to work on the donations interface -- so that there is a clearer way for people to receive donations from clients. I think it would be a good idea to create a mission statement.

What else do I need to do?

I need to test out the paypal interface, in order to determine if it actually works or not, and if people will be able to receive funds.

Well, what do I need to do in order to make this web site work properly? I need to change the events settings, I think, into different type categories, possibly? And change the taxonomy listings.

So the events settings, I think, should be differentiated into the following categories?

Differentiation by type of program to interconnect:
Skype
GoogeTalK
AOL
Yahoo! messenger
etc.

Or the other alternative categorization is something like:

differentiation by kind of offering:
crisis support line
open session
ongoing workshop
meditation group
12-step group

The challenge with this second kind of categorization is that there seem to be an unlimited number of types of offerings out there. So, it seems to make sense to let the category of event be determined by the medium, right now -- at least at this stage.

Good, so that settled. :-)

Phenomenal. I can hardly believe it. This web site is now functional. That means, it is now working -- that means it is out there, and the world can see it. I can hardly believe it. I do not know what it will become. And honestly, there is quite a bit of fear in me. Quite a bit of fear. I suppose I am afraid of putting it out there. Of putting out something that is not finished. That is still a process in the making. That is honest -- at least as honest as it can be.

We will find out what things become. Indeed, we will discover it along the way. My thoughts, initially, are to create a space on the Web, that is a safe oasis -- a gathering point -- where people can lean on each other and get and receive support. This is my hope.

In order to do a database dump -- this is what you need to do:

C:/mysql/bin>mysqldump -h Hostname -u UserName -p DATABASE> DATABASE.sql

then put the DATABASE.sql file into the PHPmyadmin program.

Gracious -- there are a lot of details to take care of.

But, I think we are probably just a few hours from going live. :-) it is definitely a beta!

Hello. I'm glad you found this place. I have just started building it. So, it is a process in the making.

Honestly, I'm not sure what it will become. That's the truth. I can tell you what my hope is.

My hope is that this place will become a thriving community of people who give and share love. My hope is that people will find and make friends here -- not just acquaintances, and not just social friends -- but friends of the heart. Deep friends. That is my hope.

My hope is that people will share of their lives as deeply as they possibly can.

There is, something about the Internet, something about not being known -- not being seen -- that gives us freedom, I believe. Freedom to say, do, feel, and speak what is true. What is most deeply true.

So, I hope you speak freely. Speak your mind. Say what you do not normally say.

You do not have to tell us your name. Where you live. Where you work. That, actually, is probably not that interesting to us.

But tell us what is in your heart.

And I will try to do the same.
