My partner, Michael, actually went to a show recently of the Wailin' Jenny's. Annabelle, one of the three "Jennys" spoke about the beauty that comes from loss. From realizing last moments. The times when you can take in your last breaths, and have gratitude and love for the world and all who dwell. It's her hope that it won't take an apocolypse for love to emerge, but nonetheless, love and hope can emerge, no matter the circumstance.

This is a song I played over and over again "that" summer. Memories flood my mind. Sunshine filled the kitchen as we canned jams. You can imagine the variety of jelly jars, small and large, of different design, reflecting the light with their various colors be it plum or berry, peach, apricot...an array of delight.
I especially remember one trip to the beach, my annual retreat, where I danced along the shoreline toying with the waves headphones on and the accordion moving me from the inside out. Charming innocence, trust and freedom in this tune.

She left us much too young.
John Henry, the infamous Blues musician.
Great duet. A study in understatement. Put out the fire and watch the coals glow.
